Giorgio Lally

My name is Giorgio Lally, I am 44 years old, I live in Milan and work in the field of computers.

I began to take part in the Active Worlds chatroom because it was the fastest and cheapest way of communicating with one of my cousins who lives in America. I discovered a fantastic world that I would never have imagined existed, a world in which reality and fantasy are combined. It is not by accident that I chose as my nickname Peter Pan, a symbol of the playful, joyful imagination of a child.

It is a fantasy world because it is possible to fly from house to garden, from temple to mountain, from one country to another.... and even from one world to another.

On the other hand, it is also a real world because there are real people with their own individual emotions and feelings. And then there are the children. I had the good luck to meet two teachers from Latina, Giro and Onda, who allowed me to "chat" to their children, to follow them and be followed by them into this wonderland.

And then there was the feeling I had when, at Christmas, I heard the voices of all those children telling me their names and what they wanted as a present.

So it was something much more than just a "chat" meeting; it involved other forms of communication :)
